Rough time

Been awhile since i last posted something. Been having a weird few weeks and had to take a break from it all.

Last month i got news that my father is dying from prostate cancer and was asked if i wanted to see him before he passes? Here's the thing, I haven't seen the old man in 28 years since he walked out of my life. The man has never made an effort to reach out to his only sons and now i hear that he's dying.
My mother asked me if i wanted to see him and i told her i had to think about it? I mean, what do i say to the man? Hi! remember me? the son you walked out on all those years ago?
I asked all my close friends what i should do? They all told me to go, it would be better if you see him and it will make me a better man.
Well, i went to see him 2 weeks ago and i gotta say, it did make me feel better. He was amazed that i took my art farther then he did and was proud of me that i have a book out. I spent a few hours with him then i had to go. Docs told me he didn't have to long but, later that weekend my mother told me they sent him home! My mother said that it must have been seeing his sons that made him feel a lil better but, he told me the docs gave him only 4 months. So i am trying to find time to talk to him and plan on seeing him for my birthday next month.

Everyone tells me how i feel? I guess i won't be at ease until i know he's not in pain anymore. When he is at peace, i will be at peace.
